Bergen County Christian Academy is pleased to announce that three of our students have placed in the Garden State Association of Christian Schools (GSACS) 40th Annual Creative Writing Contest.

On Thursday, November 17, 2022, all fourth through eighth grade students participated in the Creative Writing Contest. Students had the opportunity to choose between two writing styles, poetry or short story. In the Elementary division, which consists of grades 4-6, sixth grader Greta Kiltz won second place in the poetry category. In the Jr. High division, which consists of grades 7-8, seventh grader Alyssa Olpindo won third place in the short story category, and seventh grader Emely Salce won third place in the poetry category.

“Our students worked very hard in preparation for the contest, and their hard work has paid off,” said Mr. Tierney, coordinator of the Creative Writing Contest at BCCA. “It’s exciting for our students to see success, and ultimately, place in three out of the four categories,” he continued. BCCA’s program is committed to maintaining high standards of academic excellence rooted in the Christian worldview.

Bergen County Christian Academy is one of eleven regional participants in GSACS–which is affiliated with the American Association of Christian Schools which serves over 100,000 students in member schools.
