At Bergen County Christian Academy, your child will do so much more than “go to school.”
Regardless of the grade level, your child will have the opportunity to “broaden their horizons” by participating in extra curricular activities, athletics, fine arts, all while learning to view everything through the lens of a biblical worldview.
Your child will grow in big ways–developing their skills, talent, and character–not just for themselves, but for something bigger.

In January of 1972, Pastor Robert C. Gage envisioned the next ministry of the First Baptist Church of Hackensack. He appointed a Special Investigation Committee to determine if a Christian school would be plausible in Hackensack, NJ. The committee concluded that there was a need for a Christian School and for it to be established in September of 1973. Thus, the Hackensack Christian Schools were formed.
Since then, our school has been a Christ-first Christian school, serving the Bergen County area since 1973. We strive to glorify God in all we do by addressing the whole child: academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Everything we do is filtered through the lens of a Biblical worldview. It is an honor to partner with you in Christian education as students grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
In order to reach a larger community of the greater Bergen County region, the Academy Education Committee decided to rename Hackensack Christian Schools to Bergen County Christian Academy effective September 2016.
No matter what time of year it is, our campus is always busy. During the school year, you’ll find everything from Crusader basketball games, arts galleries, to dramatic productions . So why not schedule a time to visit and see for yourself?
Our vibrant community of families and students allow for each child to get involved in numerous opportunities. Throughout the year, students can join athletics, fine arts, retreats, and so much more. We welcome our families to join many of our activities as well!
Our graduates are well prepared academically, emotionally, physically, and most importantly spiritually to enter any high school. All of our students graduate to their school of their choice, and many of our students receive financial scholarships.
