Bergen County Christian Academy is a Christ-first Christian school and has been serving the Bergen County area since 1973. We strive to glorify God in all we do by addressing the whole child: academically, spiritually, physically, and emotionally. Everything we do is filtered through the lens of a Biblical worldview. It is an honor to partner with you in Christian education as students grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
BCCA is members with: Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI), American Association of Christian School (AACS), Garden State Association of Christian Schools (GSACS), Northern New Jersey Christian School Association (NNJCSA), and the Metro Christian Athletic Association (MCAA).
The Preschool Center is a planned environment for young children three to five years of age.
At the Elementary School level, students are encouraged to actively explore learning in order to discover their unique, God given gifts and talents.
Our Middle School program continues on the foundations formed in the Elementary program. A focus is placed in Bible, English, History, Science, and Mathematics.
In January of 1972, Pastor Robert C. Gage, the Senior Pastor of First Baptist Church of Hackensack at that time, appointed a Special Investigation Committee to research if a Christian School would be plausible in Hackensack, NJ. The committee concluded that the need for a Christian School was evident and recommended to Pastor Gage and the congregation that the Christian school be established for September of 1973.
In 2016, the Academy Education Committee determined, in order to reach a larger community of the greater Bergen County region, to rename Hackensack Christian Schools to Bergen County Christian Academy, effective September 2016. This name change has proven to be successful for the growth of BCCA. In 2017, after prayer and financial giving, Bergen County Christian Academy was able to have extensive renovations completed to the Leach Memorial Building Athletic Facility.
A tour of our campus is a great way for prospective families to learn more about our Academy. You will see our instructors working hands-on with our students. You may even see an alumni as they return often to encourage current students to work hard and strive for the best.
Graduates of Bergen Christian are prepared to enter high school both academically and spiritually. Many students are accepted to quality High School programs such as Hawthorne Christian Academy, Don Bosco Prep, Saint Joseph Regional High School, Bergen Academies, Passaic County Technical Institute, and many more. In addition to being academically prepared to attend these high schools, many of our students receive financial scholarships. Most importantly, our students are prepared spiritually to enter any high school. We recognize that it is important to live a spiritually healthy life as well, so we teach our students how to read, analyze, and critically think about Scripture.
Our Alumni are an important part of our family. Much of their success can be traced to their time here at the BCCA. Friendships, philosophies, and direction in life pursuits all had roots here. Many of our alumni are faithful prayer partners and are now at a stage in life when they are able to provide for BCCA in a tangible way, whether it be by volunteering, providing financial gifts, speaking to current students, or a doing something unique and creative. We encourage our alumni to reach out to Alumni Offices and see how they can contribute.
